SONGWRITERS...
WE NEED MATERIAL, IT TAKES A LOT OF SONGS TO FILL A LIBRARY AND WE ARE SORRY TO SAY THAT ONLY ABOUT 5% OF THE SONGS SUBMITTED TO US ARE READY FOR PUBLICATION. IN MANY CASES STAIRCASE HAS TO PUT QUITE A LOT OF WORK INTO A SUBMISSION TO PRODUCE A MARKETABLE DEMO. THE TRUTH IS THAT THE BETTER THE DEMO QUALITY, THE CLOSER YOU ARE
TO BECOMING A PAID SONGWRITER. BUT REMEMBER! THERE WILL BE NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU IF WE DECIDE TO RE- DEMO YOUR SONG.
REMEMBER TO COPYRIGHT...
Protect yourselves and you songs, copyright, it is a dog eat dog world in the music business and StairCase does not want to work with unprotected songs. If you do not know how to copyright your songs StairCase has a service that will do it for you. We only charge $20.00 above the copyright fees in Washington and we will make sure your song is protected. We have provided a credit card form as well as pay pal for your convenience on the entry page.
If you want to take advantage of our copyright service please send yourself a copy of your song, do not open it, wait one week at least and then mail another copy to StairCase. We will then process you songs and mail your copyright information to you. Please be aware that you can copyright several songs for the same price as one, so it can be very cost effective to copyright your material![]()
We will accept material that has not been copy written for evaluation, but we will not sign a contract on material that does not have a valid copyright.
Here We Wiill Answer Some Of Your Most Frequently asked Questions...
A represenitive of StairCase will be answering your questions submitted about this site.
Question...
Can you really do something for us songwriters that live in a small town. I’ve been on the streets of Nashville and I’ve tried other ways.
Answer... Like you I have also stood on the streets of Nashville along with other good songwriters and I was offered contracts even on the first day there. But all that they could promise me was that I couldn’t do anything with my songs until my contract was up. I find that they were only trying to build a catalog and needed volume to sell their small company to a larger one. Another opportunity was, if you’ll give me hundreds of dollars I’ll make you a demo tape, and again it probably means you’re going nowhere. If you have a great song then more than likely if you get it in front of the right person they are going to pay you for the rights to use it. If you send StairCase a great song I’m going to ask you if I can put it in the catalog if the answer is yes, a group of people are going to discuss which direction that song should go and they will also discuss who will be the best singers and musicians to make It a great demo. But before we actually put the money into it, to make a great demo we will be contacting the writer to sign a contract. The contract means that you’re putting your total trust in us and we’re putting trust in your song, because it has the potential to be hit. When I was asked to be an investor in this new concept I got excited as an investor I’m excited about the money that could be made if enough people see what I see. As a songwriter I’m excited about the fact that other writers will have a better chance of finding a way to be heard, while people will be working on my song I can pursue other avenues for the same song( I know there is power in numbers.) So the bottom line is, if enough people take advantage of this opportunity I am sure that there will be great songwriters, singers, and musicians discovered that otherwise would have never been known.
What Can You Do For Musicians?
We need musicians and performers, some of our entries are just lyrical works and we will need melodys as well as singers for demos. We will also be on the lookout for the next potential big artists We have told you that this is a coop, because of this we will be looking for artists, and musicans capable of doing quality demo work as well as the next big talent we can promote. We want to get a lot of our talent from people in the coop because as we stated before it will take us all to make this thing work and someone trying to get a shot at the brass ring will work hard to make that happen.
Your Comments...
If you have any ideas or thoughts on how to improve this site, or our services to you please email us and let us know. The great thing about a coop is the fact that if we all get on the same page we can make something happen here to revolutionize the song industry, and make a pathway for unknown writers and artists that is not littered with lies and greed.

LONESOME IN A CROWD (C) Kathleen Foster 1998 E-mail songriter2001@yahoo.com
VERSE 1,
Iv'e never been so empty, or felt so out of place, never been so lonely just looking for one face.
I'm listening to a band that only just last week, had sounded so good but now has lost it's beat.
All the jokes are wasted, that used to make me laugh, all the well known faces are windows to the past.
Nothing has it's color since she had to go, it's all like a black and white, old time picture show.
CHORUS,
And I'm sitting on this barstool with a whiskey in my hand,
Trying to drown her memory in this empty lonley man.
I'm sitting on this bar stool hearing laughter ring out loud,
How can a person be so lonesome in a crowd.
VERSE 2,
This empty stool beside me has someone sitting there.
But she doesn't have your green eyes or firey strands of hair.
She doesn't have that smile that turned my heart around, she doesn't have those sweet lips that sent me heaven bound.
REPEAT CHORUS,
END,
OOOOH! How can a person be, so lonesome in a crowd?
